MP3 / MP4 player software problems.? Hi I recently asked this but failed to inform you all that the MP3/ MP4 player has no make on it so I thought I better try again! I purchased what I later discovered to be a rubbish MP3 & MP4 player and then accidentally wiped the software when trying to use the ridiculous download system for it. I wondered if anyone knew if there was general software that can be loaded onto it or if it can only be the manufacturers’ software (which will be a nightmare as they have now gone out of business).

There is a website where you can find many different versions of firmware, but I have tried to reload firmware on one of my players and spent hours trying to find the correct version and could not. You can try it if you like, but it would probably just be a waste of your time. The website where I found the different versions of firmware is."

Can i take an mp4 player, wipe out the software and install iTunes/apple software? I want to take this "knock off" iPod and completely wipe out the software on it (mp4) and put an iTunes format, since that's what i'm used to.
